You can extend your stay in the UK if you have not been in the UK for six months. There are various reasons as to why you have not completed your six months stay in the UK. If you were granted leave to enter for three months (this will be stamped in your passport) and you would like to extend your stay to a maximum of six months you will need to apply using the prescribed application form.
You should send your completed application form to the home office by post before your permission to stay ends. The application form gives you details of where to send your completed application form, fee and supporting documents. The home office requests all applications to have original documents if you do not you would need to provide a good reason why you cannot produce them with the application.
You are not allowed to stay in the United Kingdom as a visitor for more than six months. You are expected to return home when your visa expires. In some circumstances, you may be able to transfer to a different category of visa and you should see the appropriate category for more information.
If your application is under family visitor, then you would have appeal rights. Other categories do not carry an appeal right.
Non Visa Nationals who are refused entry to the UK as they are not required to have a visa to come and stay in the UK for six months, do not have the right of appeal. However they may have an appeal right if they have applied for a family visitor and was refused on entry. They would be allowed to enter the UK, possibly on a temporary admission but must report back. Please contact us as this information are for general purposes.
